All final-year Computer Science students are reminded that the Final Year Project (FYP) submission deadline is fast approaching. This notice applies to both HND and BTech final-year students who are required to submit their completed project reports and working software.
Key Dates
- Draft Submission: February 20, 2026 — Submit your draft report to your supervisor for review.
- Final Submission: March 7, 2026 — Submit 3 bound copies of your final report to the department office, along with a CD/USB containing your project source code and documentation.
- Defense Presentations: March 10–14, 2026 — Oral defense sessions will be scheduled by the FYP coordinator.
Submission Requirements
Your final submission must include:
- Project Report: Three (3) spiral-bound copies following the departmental formatting guidelines. Ensure your report includes an abstract, literature review, methodology, implementation details, testing results, and conclusion.
- Source Code: Complete source code submitted on a CD/USB drive, clearly labeled with your name and student ID.
- User Manual: A brief guide explaining how to install and use your application.
- Supervisor Approval Form: Signed by your project supervisor confirming they have reviewed your work.
Tips for a Strong Submission
- Schedule regular meetings with your supervisor — don’t wait for them to reach out to you.
- Test your software thoroughly. Broken demos during defense presentations leave a poor impression.
- Use proper referencing (APA style) for all sources cited in your report.
- Practice your defense presentation. You have 15 minutes to present, followed by 10 minutes of questions.
- Prepare for technical questions about your code, architecture decisions, and methodology choices.
Students who fail to submit by the final deadline without an approved extension will receive an Incomplete (IC) grade. Extension requests must be submitted in writing to the HOD through your supervisor at least one week before the deadline.
Start finalizing your work now. The deadline waits for no one!
